Light Bender
Although ADUs may be small, they can have the best natural light without compromising the privacy of the existing main residence. By creating a gap between the roofs, we provide the proper ceiling height allowing natural light meanwhile also the other areas can have attic storage.
Task
The goal of this project was the design and construction of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) that optimize natural light and privacy while also maximizing usable space by creating a gap between the roofs. The main focus was on achieving an effective balance between adequate ceiling height for natural light in the ADUs, maintaining privacy for the main residence, and utilizing attic storage in other areas of the property.
